This is our first visit (but definitely not the last!) to Pony Tale De Cafe. Having been around for some time, penangites may have seen this cafe before, which is located at Spice Arena in Bayan Lepas Area.

We were impressed by how this seemingly “just-another-cafe-in-town” has so much good food to offer! PonyTale offers a variety of Western-Asian fusion dishes which are delicately catered to suit local tastebud. All dishes are made from scratch with hand-picked quality ingredients.

You can also dine on the first floor in Pony Tale De Cafe. It’s more quiet here but we still prefer to grab our seat on the ground floor 🙂

Sicilian Seafood Pumpkin Pot (2 pax sharing)- RM43.80

Our favourite dish in-house! Ideal for sharing, this Italian-inspired pasta with house special tomato-based sauce is topped with giant prawns and loaded into a pumpkin! On the side, there is another portion of penne topped with generous amount of mussels.

Norwegian Salmon with Classic French Dressing- RM 32.80

One of their all-time bestseller, fresh salmon steak topped with almond is something uncommon to see around here. We are surprised by how the combination goes! Paired with lemon-butter sauce, this fresh salmon steak is definitely a yes for salmon lovers.

 

Pony’s Breakfast- RM23.80

If you’re looking for breakfast or brunch, their signature breakfast set won’t disappoint either. The croissant is crispy on the outside and soft in the inside and the Italian sausage is undoubtedly a premium addition.

Great for chicken chop lovers, the chicken is well grilled and juicy. The fruity Mediterranean sauce brings the chicken to a whole new level. Simply delicious!

Virgin pineapple mojito- RM13.80

This refreshing drink is da bomb! Blended with fresh frozen fruits and ice, we certainly love the lime and pineapple mix that give our tongue a tingling feel. What a great complement to the food here!

Yellow energy strawberry- RM 15.80

The strawberry with banana milkshake has a scrumptious strawberry flavour, with an added sweetness from fully-ripen bananas. It comes second in our favourite list!

Greenish Pony- RM13.80

We weren’t a fan of vegetable blended juices but PonyTale made it a little different by adding a touch of passion fruit. We love it!

 

Chococado- RM18.90

One of the bestsellers in the drinks menu. It has a smooth texture but is rather bitter in taste. Well, we’d still prefer the mojito and milkshake over this.

Dessert

Berry and Banana French Toast- RM16.80

If you have some space in your tummy after meal, don’t overlook their dessert as their French toasts are made from Japanese Shibuya breads which are soft and sweet.

Overall Experience

This place is great for family dining, especially when you are extra particular about food quality! We recommend everyone to try out this place if you haven’t! Trust us, you won’t be disappointed.
